Title SsangYong Tivoli Diesel wins ‘Energy Winner Awards’

▪ Tivoli Diesel wins Energy Winner Awards, organized by Consumers Korea and MOTIE

▪ Tivoli wins the Ergonomics Design Prize and the Car of the year, recognized for its product competitiveness in various areas.


SsangYong Motor (CEO Johng-sik Choi; www.kg-mobility.com/en) announced that its new model Tivoli Diesel has won the Energy Winner Awards for its high efficiency and eco-friendliness.


The 19th Energy Winner Awards ceremony was held at COEX, Samsung-dong, Seoul, joined by Byung-du Min, Head of Powertrain division and other representatives. Tivoli diesel, received an award for CO₂reduction with innovative technologies, has been displayed at COEX by July 24th.

 


The Energy Winner Awards is co-organized by the Consumers Korea and Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy (MOTIE) and specially supported by the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), making its 19th year this year. The award evaluates companies or organizations who promotes energy efficiency through consistent technical innovation in different sectors including vehicle, electronics, buildings, and etc.

 


Combined with e-XDi160 engine and AISIN transmission, Tivoli diesel meets Euro 6 emission standards with high fuel efficiency of 15.3km/ℓ (2WD A/T, based on Korean standard) and CO₂ emission level of 128g/km. Tivoli is filled with various technologies, including a smart energy system, variable displacement oil pump and high efficiency turbocharging system for thermal efficiency.


Euro 6 e-XDi160 diesel engine provides the excellent drivability and fuel efficiency by performance by offering the maximum torque in the 1,500~2,500rpm of mid-low speed range. Also, the engine realizes flat power at high speed rage of 3,400~4,000rpm, satisfying efficiency and fun to drive at the same time.


Since its launch in January, a total of 27,000 units of Tivoli have been sold in H1 2015 in the domestic market and addition of diesel version is expected to be another strong drive to secure Tivoli’s leading position in compact SUV market.


In the meantime, Tivoli has been recognized for its class leading quality by winning the most prestigious Grand Prize for its semi-bucket seats at the 15th Ergonomics Design Awards and being chosen as the Car of the 1st half year in a recent survey conducted by SK encar and some medias.
