EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation)
- Non-load, sudden acceleration fume prevention
equipment is mounted; this equipment reduces
fuel supply and fume emission when the acceleration
pedal is stepped and RPM suddenly increases

Pre-Combustion
Chamber Type Combustion Area
Pre-combustion type combustion
area is designed by Mercedes-Benz
in its traditional engine design,
and it outperforms its maximum
performance with little amount
of fuel and shows excellent stillness
by preventing knocking.
Hydraulic Valve Aperture
Adjustment Device
When an engine explodes, the aperture
of the engine gets loose by high
heat, lessening engine capability
and then, regular adjustment of
the valve aperture is required.
However, in case of Korando, the
valve aperture is automatically
adjusted by hydraulic pressure.

Engine Inclinated Installment
To compare with the upright
installed engine, it is installed
slantingly to the left at about
15¡Æ, minimizing the side pressure
and friction, and performs excellent
performance and combustion.
Resonator
A resonator is employed to decrease
noise that was produced at air

at low speed and acceleration

| Turbo
Intercooler
Turbo intercooler engine is originally
used for airplane. It has been developed
to maintain certain air pressure in
the engine even at high altitude where
air is rarefied. Now it is applied
to automobile engine.
It is the equipment which increases
engine explosion power to get strong
and torque with compulsive injection
of much air into the combustion chamber
under the constant amount of exhaustion.

Principle for operation]
As the air, pushed by turbo
charger, is compressed in
a closed space, the temperature
of the air rises. Consequently,
the rise of the air temperature
expands volume, so the amount
of air which can be injected
will be limited.
To
overcome such limitation,
turbo intercooler cools
down air, which has been
heated after pressurization
by turbo charger, and
expands the density of
air. So the absolute amount
of inhaled air can be
increased and it improves
output of engine power.

Increase Output of Power |
| As
it increases output of power compared to natural
inhaled engine, it shows excellent power.
It also produces same output in the low speed
range, providing long life span of the engine.

the RPM(Revolutions per minute) is higher.
However, the turbo intercooler engine can
produce high RPM even in low speed range.

results from incomplete combustion by lack
of air. As the turbo intercooler engine provides
