Attaining silence and tranquility is the goal of Ssangyong's N.V.H. engineers who employ sophisticated tools and materials to eliminate noise, vibration and harshness from the cabin.   Floor & Interior:   -As shown in the diagram, anti-vibration padding is applied to the basic Body-In-White shell, foam noise insulation to the lower part of the B pillar, and an integrated floor mat and floor insulator. -In addition to the transmission housing insulator, an insulator has been installed around the outer tunnel to more effectively combat engine & transmission noise. - The inner dash insulator has been increased to a thickness of 5mm to reduce engine intake noise.     Hood:   A water-repellent nonwoven fabric and resin felt is applied to isolate noise emission from escaping through the hood.     Engine Compartment:   To reduce noise emission from the engine compartment, insulation has been increased to a thickness of 5mm.     Exhaust System:   - To suppress exhaust noise and cabin noise, the structure of the muffler has been optimized for a 5-cylinder engine. - Bellows are installed at optimal points in order to reduce vibration.     Tailgate   All connecting parts of the tailgate are fashioned of plastic or rubber to better isolate external noises.   Power Train Upgrade System   Large Engine Cover This design innovation helps isolate and reduce engine noise and improve cabin quietness. .     High-strength Cylinder Block To dramatically reduce noise and vibration, a muscular cylinder underbody and high-density cylinder rib construction are applied.     Viscous Damper This marked improvement over previous rubber models, the viscous damper minimizes vibration caused by twisting of the crankshaft line.     Pilot Injection Optimally designed piston profile and multi-injection system result in superior noise and vibration control.     Hydraulic Auto Tensioner This device helps maintain regular belt tension, thereby reducing engine noise and vibration.     Transmission Mounting Type The increase from 1-point to 1-point mounting of the transmission achieves signification noise reduction during engine startup
