SsangYong Motor Company (CEO Byung-tae Yea; www.kg-mobility.com/en) announced that the company sold a total of 70,277 units in H1 2019 – 55,950 units in domestic sales and 14,327 in exports, including CKD kits.

SsangYong's H1 2019 sales increased 4.7% compared to the same period last year driven by domestic sales growth thanks to the launches of 3 new cars this year.

SsangYong launched Rexton Sports Khan (export: Musso Grand) in January, the all-new Korando in February, and the facelift model of Tivoli with the SsangYong's first 1.5 litre turbo gasoline engine in June.

In the domestic market, the company's sales grew 8.6% in H1 2019 over the same period last year thanks to the successful launches of 3 new cars.

In the export market, however, the company's H1 exports dropped 8.2% year-on-year due to the alignment of the product mix.

The company's June sales dropped 17.5% from a year earlier. Its domestic sales decreased 15.1% and exports 25.5%, respectively.

SsangYong Motor will focus on enhancing customer experience by strengthening marketing events such as a collaboration with top street-fashion brand Covernat and a hotel staycation with Tivoli.

Byung-tae Yea, CEO of SsangYong Motor Company, commented, "We achieved year-on-year growth in H1 driven by increased sales at home with a series of new car launches," adding, "We will increase our global sales by conducting diversified marketing activities and launching new cars in more export markets."
